A man over ninety is a great comfort to all his elderly neighbors: he is a picket-guard at the extreme outpost; and the young folks of sixty and seventy feel that the enemy must get by him before he can come near their camp. Oliver Wendell Holmes

The advantage of being ninety years old is that one has many people to love.

YES, I'M A SENIOR CITIZEN!
I'm the life of the party...... even if it lasts until 8 p.m. I'm very good at opening child proof caps.... with a hammer. I'm usually interested in going home before I get to where I am going. I'm awake many hours before my body allows me to get up. I'm smiling all the time because I can't hear a thing you're saying. I'm very good at telling stories; over and over and over and over... I'm so cared for -- long term care, eye care, private care, dental care.
I'm wrinkled, saggy, lumpy, and that's just my left leg.
I'm having trouble remembering simple words like.....
I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.

90th Birthday Poems
As it's your 90th birthday Let's face it, Mum, you're old We all agree that it's time You had your story told
First you had a little girl And you called her Joanne Marie Then twins, James and Patrick And already you had three
Like Oliver Twist you wanted more So who was next to arrive More twins Sean and Jackie The number's up to five
By now the stork was worn out On more he wasn't keen As encouragement you gave him a Pat Then along came Eugene
Of course Eugene says he's the best You'd produced six times before But in truth the stork took a look at him And said "That's it ..no more
You've been a busy lady For life, you had a thirst Giving your all for your kids And you always put us first
But now that you've reached ninetieth You're content and so serene This comes with love from Helen And Sharon and Eugene
And your whole extended family On your birthday have a ball Ruby, you're a treasured gem So precious to us all...
